As such, the US is one of the best places to visit in September, when temperatures in other parts of the world start to drop. 

You’ll find many places offering sunnier skies and warmer temperatures, from exciting city breaks in New York, beach vacations in Florida, hiking holidays in Arizona, and luxury getaways in Los Angeles. Orlando, Florida

The first warm September destination on our list is Orlando, a city in Central Florida best known for its epic theme parks. As such, this is one of the best US September vacation destinations for children. You’ll spend most of your time hitting up Universal Orlando, Disney World, and Epcot.

While Orlando has no beaches, you’re not far away from Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach, where you can enjoy miles of pristine white sand beach. Other notable Orlando attractions include Universal Volcano Bay, SeaWorld Orlando, and Lake Eola Park. In September, you can expect daily highs of 90°F (32°C). Honolulu, Hawaii

If you want to visit Hawaii but want more oomph, you must visit Honolulu. This vibrant city offers much of the same things as Maui but has a much livelier atmosphere, more designer shops, and a more diverse choice of accommodation. Like Maui, the average high temperature in Honolulu in September is 86°F (30°C).

Must-visit attractions in Honolulu include Iolani Palace, Waikiki Beach, Bishop Museum, and Pearl Harbor National Memorial. Popular activities include hiking, surfing, swimming, and, our favorite, wining and dining. Halekulani is one of Honolulu’s best 5-star hotels. It features sea views, multiple swimming pools, and three restaurants. On the other hand, AC Hotel by Marriott Honolulu is one of the most affordable hotels in Honolulu.

New York City, New York

September is an excellent time to visit the Big Apple. While you won’t find white sand beaches and turquoise waters, you will find some of the United States’ most iconic landmarks, such as the Empire State Building, Central Park, and Times Square. Better yet, the average September temperature in New York is 77°F (25°C).

New York has been a playground for the rich and famous for decades, offering big spenders luxury accommodation, high-end boutiques, Michelin-starred dining, and multi-million dollar homes. In September, the average daily high temperature in “America’s Finest City” is 77°F (25°C). Furthermore, the summer crowds are dying down, so you can find more affordable accommodation.

Conversely, budget-friendly hotels like HI San Diego Downtown Hostel offer private rooms for less than $150. Significant points of interest in San Diego include Del Mar, Coronado, San Diego Zoo, and Balboa Park. Oh, and let’s not forget the 70 miles (113 kilometers) of golden-sand beaches.
