Nieuwpoort Beach

Nieuwpoort teems with bountiful beachside bliss, where you can spend time simply running on the dunes and playing on the sandy stretches. Nothing quite compares to the feeling of sand trickling through your fingers and toes!

Need some tools for your beach escapades? No worries, you can easily buy shovels for the kids here at Zeedijk 14.

You’ll also find kites to fly at that shop!

Nieuwpoort Ferry Ride to Nature Reserve

For those keen on an outdoor adventure, the city’s ferry ride is your ticket to a serene nature reserve. It’s absolutely free and incredibly regular, with both your furry friends and your bicycles being welcome guests. Check out the exact spot where to get the ferry here, with a small playground and public toilets right opposite of it.

Nieuwpoort Nature Reserve

The Nature Reserve is worth seeing once. It’s a serene place with a lighthouse and a long sandy beach.

If you’re lucky, you can spot seals here!

This is the only place that is not stroller-friendly, as there are several steps to get to the beach.

Go-Carts in Nieuwpoort

For the thrill-seekers, don’t miss out on renting carts at Happy Gocarts on Zeedijk 10. Both kids and adults will have a blast zooming about, feeling the sea breeze in your hair. You can find the exact spot here.

There are also family go-carts! All these are common along the Belgian coast, at places such as De Haan, Knokke, De Panne – literally everywhere!

Playgrounds in Nieuwpoort

If your little ones crave some time on a playground, Nieuwpoort has you covered. There’s a small climbing structure on the beach.

There’s a small playground with a sandpit and a ship with a slide on Paul Orbanpromenade 112. Peek at it here. Not far away on the same promenade, you’ll also find the Sea Scouts’ small playground here.

Lenspolder Kids Farm in Nieuwpoort

Lenspolder is a charming little farm for kids in Nieuwpoort, that’s perfect for a family outing!

Lenspolder offers a range of workshops (reserve in advance), a café with a convenient playground right next to it, and even wooden dairy cows in the yard that will surely bring a smile to your kids’ faces.

But wait, there’s more! As soon as you step in, you’ll find a barefoot path with an obstacle course at the entrance.

For some outdoor fun, head to the meadow, where slides and a climbing tower await your little adventurers. Let them run wild, climb, and slide while enjoying the beauty of the surroundings. It’s pure joy and freedom in the open air!

Lenspolder also understands that furry friends are part of the family. That’s why dogs are welcome on a leash. And don’t worry, there’s a smoking corner available for those who need it, while the farm remains a smoke-free zone.

While you can’t feed the farm animals yourself, rest assured it’s for their own health and well-being.
