The ice rink is gorgeous!! Do not miss it! It is partially covered, so it’s weather proof as well 🙂 The chalets are awesome and they have hot drinks and food. The burgers on fire pit were pretty good and nothing beats a hot chocolate after ice skating
Cost for ice skating is EUR 8 per adult (or EUR 6, if you have your own ice skates) and EUR 7 for kids under 120cm. You can also rent a bobby for EUR 3 (EUR 5 refundable deposit)

The Christmas market in Luxembourg is one of the best Christmas markets in Europe!

Best Christmas markets in Europe

We love gluhwein and trying a local delicacy at a Christmas market! It is one of our favorite holiday traditions and we are so happy these are taking place in 2021 again

*Cost: free entrance to the Christmas markets, but the attractions are paid, eg Ferris wheel
*Here is the official website for more info:

*Covid Safe Ticket required to enter any of the bigger Christmas markets, not just to consume or enjoy the attractions. The bigger Christmas markets are fenced, so without a Covid Safe Ticket you cannot even access them. You can visit the smaller sites without a Covid Safe Ticket, namely Puits Rouge, Grand-Rue, Place Guillaume II and Square Jan Palach. You get a bracelet the first time you enter one, then you enter all others showing the bracelet. Keep in mind that there is a different queue for people with a bracelet eg in Place d’Armes, do not waste time waiting in the wrong queue!
*Public transport is free in Luxembourg!
*Parking: You can park at Monterey parking. It is right next to the pirate ship playground (there are toilets there too) and in the middle from the center of the city, where all the attractions are, and the ice rink at the other side of the park. Alternatively, you can park at Glacis, which is near the ice rink, and take public transport to the center
