Traveling without a visa means you can save time and money and take off on a whim whenever you feel like it. With the incredible islands of the Caribbean so close, it’s an obvious choice for Americans. But what about visa requirements?

In fact, with the sole exception of Cuba, US passport holders don’t need a visa to travel to any Caribbean country. So, without further ado, here are some suggestions for your next visit to this irresistible part of the world! 

St Vincent and the Grenadines

St Vincent and the Grenadines is ideal for island-hopping during your Caribbean vacation. There are 31 islands, including exclusive Mustique and the biggest island, Bequia, which makes a popular base. Kitesurfing, hiking, and swimming with turtles are also among the draws.

Aruba

Aruba stands out due to its Dutch architecture. It also attracts visitors who hike Arikok National Park, which offers abandoned mines and ancient art forms. The beaches are lovely, and Malmok Beach offers rich marine life for snorkelers to discover.

St Lucia

Grenada

The Bahamas

If it’s photogenic, picture postcard scenes you want, then head to the Bahamas. Expect candy-colored beach huts, pink sands, and well-heeled hotels. It’s easy to hop between the islands by plane before settling on your favorite.

Dominica

Not to be confused with the far more touristy Dominican Republic, Dominica is one of the Caribbean’s least visited islands. The volcanic activity here provides several natural hot springs ideal for a soak after tackling a lengthy Waitukubuli National Trail section. Shorter walks to lakes, waterfalls, and even Bubble Beach are also an attractive option.

Trinidad and Tobago
