Looking for an outdoor escape just a short drive from Brussels? The Sonian Forest has got you covered! 🌳
Highlights:
- Interactive Trail: The forest boasts a trail filled with play structures. Here, kids can take on exciting assignments and compare their results with forest animals. It’s tailor-made for younger explorers!
- Additional Play: Apart from the trail, Woudpoort’s backyard offers some bonus play structures.
- Language No Barrier: Though trail signs are in NL, the fun remains universal.
- Stroller Friendly: Many paths starting from Woudpoort are perfect for strollers.
- Refreshments: De Bosuil café is nearby. It seemed to offer takeaway but was closed during our visit. But no worries, the area has plenty of other options.
- Stroller Vs. Carrier: The first play area near Bosuil is somewhat stroller friendly. But, with undefined paths and a few stairs near Woudpoort, a carrier might be more convenient.
- Pet Policy: Please note, dogs aren’t allowed.
Here is the start of the trail: Kapucijnendreef 12-22
Facilities & Activities:
- There’s a toilet facility at Woudpoort.
- Combine your forest visit with pony riding at Woudpoort. Available on Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday afternoons. Tip: It gets busy, so try to get there early!
