-Signposted hikes through the forest, you can also see the Zwarte Madam and you can finish all walks with a drink and food at Bar Bruis and let the kids enjoy the natural playground there!
-In June there are forest orchids blossoming here!
-There is a natural playground next to the Visitors Center with a small wooden ship and a small wooden castle, also little ponds and wooden structures – lots of fun for kids!
-You can eat and drink at Bar Bruis at the end of the walks; there are warm drinks, waffles and ice cream, there are also burgers and soups
-There are many picnic tables as well
-[The 2km walk is NOT available anymore! This is a small walk appropriate for younger kids, where you are looking for 13 wooden animals along the route.
You can ask for a map at the Visitors Center (take a pen with you to note the wooden animals you find on the paper as well). The person there is very friendly and he can show forest stuffed animals to the kids]
-For the 5.3km walk, there are also farm animals along the route. You can make a small detour to see the Zwarte Madam statue in the forest. The trail is signposted with a red rectangle. You can download the GPX file here:

-There are also stages organized here for 6-12 year olds (full for summer already). You can keep an eye at the agenda here:
-It can get very muddy, wear appropriate shoes!
-Not stroller friendly, not wheelchair friendly, as it can get very muddy
-Dogs allowed on a leash
-Toilets (and shower!) at Bar Bruis (closed for now officially)
-You can combine it with Silsomhof, where kids can freely pet goats, sheep and horses and see cows, donkeys and chickens
-Just 20 minutes drive from Schuman, Brussels (or 1 hour 10 minutes by public transport)
