Animal Park La Roche-en-Ardenne

Animal Park La Roche-en-Ardenne

-A small animal park with a playground; great for young kids
-The spaces for the animals are quite big except for the owls
-There are wolves, owls, boars, deer and more, also some farm animals
-The walk around the park is a bit steep (uphill and downhill)
-Cafe where you can buy hot chocolate and waffles
-Not wheelchair friendly
-Doable with a stroller if it has big wheels
-It can get very muddy, wear appropriate shoes
-Dogs are not allowed
-Narrow streets to drive to the top of the hill, where the animal park is
-There is free parking at the entrance of the animal park
-Open only on the weekends in the winter, open every day April-August
-It can be closed if it’s raining or the weather is bad
-Cost: adult EUR 6.50, 3-12 years old EUR 4.50
-Reservation obligatory here:
http://www.parc-gibier-laroche.be/reservation-en-ligne.html
-It can be combined with the castle at La Roche-en-Ardenne. More details here:
https://worldwildschooling.com/2021/02/19/la-roche-en-ardenne-castle/
-You can walk from the castle to the animal park and back, it would be 3.5km round trip. Don’t start from the animal park, as it is on the top of a hill and your would have to go uphill at the end of the day. There is a nice spot with panoramic view, see last photos. You can find a screenshot of the route in the last pics or download it here: https://www.komoot.com/tour/317641486
-About 1.5 hour drive from Schuman, Brussels
