Overview
Hiking along the river, passing by small waterfalls and bridges.. Watch the video to see what it’s like!
Save this!
This is not ideal for toddlers, as a part of the path is rocky and you need to hold a rope. A good carrier might be helpful. This is definitely not stroller friendly either. It is a perfect adventure for kids 4+ years old (you know your kid best, check out the video to decide if it’s something they would be able to do)
The playground is very small and old, but it is a small reward for kids at the end of the hike
Practical stuff
*This hike is 9.1km long according to the Tourism Office of East Belgium, but only 4.8km according to the sign at the start (or 7.2km, if we believe the guy that corrected the sign with a marker)
*This hike is signposted, follow the blue sign
*Here is the link to the trail from the Tourism office of East Belgium
https://www.ostbelgien.eu/en/fiche/hiking/im-wilden-tros-marets-tal#dm=1
*It can get pretty muddy, wear appropriate shoes
*Not wheelchair friendly, not stroller friendly. Best to get a carrier with you, if you are going with very young kids, as you need to walk on rocks and hold a rope at some point. Other than this point, the rest of the trail is easy
*The restaurant has been closed for a few months, hopefully it will reopen at some point
*Parking: at the start of the trail
