Which Christmas Markets in Luxembourg Should You Not Miss?

The main locations you should not miss are Place de la Constitution and Place d’Armes.

Place de la Constitution – Wantermaart

There is a Ferris wheel, a carousel, trampolines, a turning Christmas tree ride, and more. Moreover, there are also chalets where you can get a hot drink or food. Try the tartiflette, it’s delicious!

Place Guillaume II – Les rennes volants

A very short stroll away is Place Guillaume II, where you can find the flying reindeers ride.

Place d’Armes – Lëtzebuerger Chrëschtmaart

Place d’Armes is a lively square full of cafés and restaurants. The main Christmas tree is there and there are many chalets where you can eat and drink. Furthermore, there are many terrasses for warmer days at this square

Square Jan Palach – Wanterzuch (Train Ride)

This little square is right next to Place d’Armes. There is a little train for kids there

Kinnekswiss – Winterlights on Ice (ice rink)

The ice rink is gorgeous! Do not miss it! It is partially covered, so it’s weather proof as well 🙂 Furthermore the chalets are awesome and they have hot drinks and food. Especially the burgers on fire pit were pretty good – nothing beats a hot chocolate after ice skating. This is definitely a highlight when visiting the Christmas market in Luxembourg with kids

Cost for ice skating is a couple of euros less, if you have your own ice skates, and for kids under 120cm. You can also rent a bobby.

Old Athénée courtyard – Winterkids
Puits Rouge – Wanterchaleten (“winter chalets”) and Pêche aux canards (hook-a-duck)
Grand-Rue – Le Chahut des contes (merry-go-round)

City Promenade for Kids

The Luxembourg City Tourist Office is organizing a city promenade for children 6+ years old (accompanied by their parents). The treasure hunt around the city takes about 2 hours.

Where to Park to Visit the Luxembourg Christmas Market

You can park at Monterey parking. It is right next to the pirate ship playground (there are toilets there too) and in the middle from the center of the city, where all the attractions are, and the ice rink at the other side of the park.
