Georges Henri Park in Brussels is a hidden gem that holds a fascinating history. It’s hard to believe that this beautiful park was once an abandoned cemetery. However, its transformation has given it a unique character and charm that visitors can appreciate.
As you wander through the park, you’ll notice that the walking paths are paved with tombstones, serving as a reminder of the park’s past. It’s an intriguing sight that adds an unusual touch to the park’s atmosphere.
Georges Henri Playground
One of the highlights of Georges Henri Park is the fantastic playground, perfect for children to enjoy. The playground features a sandbox where kids can let their imaginations run wild, as well as a marvelous octopus spaceship with exciting slides. If parents need a break, there’s a covered area with benches nearby where they can relax while keeping an eye on their little ones.
The playground at Georges Henri Park is a true haven for little adventurers. As soon as we stepped foot into this wonderland, our kids’ eyes lit up with pure joy. Imagination soared as they explored the sandbox, building castles and digging moats. But the real showstopper was the extraordinary octopus spaceship, complete with thrilling slides that sent them into giggling fits of delight.
We also love the wooden giant!
We were particularly intrigued by a unique wooden skeleton of a boat near the exercise area, adding an extra touch of whimsy charm to the park’s ambiance. Our kids loved exploring this quirky feature, sparking imaginative tales of pirate adventures and high-sea expeditions.
Toddler Area
There is also a small toddler area. Don’t forget your sand toys!

However, it’s worth noting that on warm, sunny days, the park can get quite crowded. But fret not, for just next to the playground, you’ll find Guinguette Henri, a pop-up bar that operates in the summer. This charming establishment offers dance lessons, yoga sessions, and various activities for both kids and adults, allowing you to enjoy the park’s lively atmosphere while indulging in some refreshments.
